Winter Sea Bass are HUGE!!!

Every winter there are opportunities to go offshore for extra large Sea Bass. Capt. Andy Merendino on the Charter Boat "Cape Queen" took a few hearty souls out on such a trip and managed to catch a real nice batch of Sea Bass. You can see by the pictures attached that these fish are significantly larger than those that are usually caught over inshore wrecks and other structures. If the weather cooperates and the captain knows where to fish, a successful trip like this one is almost guaranteed.

To be prepared for this type of trip there are other issues that the captain has to address. Most other boats in our area are winterized for the winter. In order to be prepared to take out a charter group, fresh water systems on board have to be properly maintained to avoid broken pipes. The engines need to remain in a ready-to-run position and therefore can't be in an inactive mode. These mechanical issues and the weather challenges are things that Andy and his team have dealt with and they stand ready to take out other groups as requested.
